The Guardian reports that al-Shabaab, an Islamist group whose mission is to impose sharia law throughout East Africa, has raided a hotel frequented by diplomats and government officials in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, and killed at least 15 people.

Istanbul Bomb Attack Targets Police Vehicle

The Guardian reports that Turkish authorities are indicating the involvement of a Kurdish extremist group in a car bomb attack against a police bus that killed seven police officers and four civilians this week in Istanbul.
