In a statement on their meeting this week with representatives from internet companies on their efforts to remove from their platforms "illegal content," including "online terrorist propaganda and xenophobic, racist or hate speech," European Commissioners warned that failure to speedily remove such content could result in EU legislation addressing the issue.
