The New York Times reports that pressure from environmental activists is having an effect on business and investment policies, as several major companies announce that they will sign pledges to reduce the effects of their operations on climate change and large investment managers have promised to remove the money they control from fossil fuel companies.

UN Launches Guidelines for Businesses on Implementing SDGs

Academic Proposes "ISDS Carve-out" in Climate Agreement

A recent report from Professor Gus Van Harten of Osgoode Hall Law School proposes that a UN deal on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to be agreed in late 2015 include a measure that would limit the ability of corporations, through Investor-State Dispute Settlement ("ISDS") mechanisms in trade agreements, to challenge government action on climate change.
