UN Coalition Pushes "Sustainability" in Asian Infrastructure

As part of its plans to embed the global "sustainable development" agenda in China's massive infrastructure project to connect Eurasia, the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, the UN Environment Programme has announced the launch of an International Coalition for Green Development on Belt and Road to monitor the impacts of the initiative on the climate and "sustainability."

OECD, WEF Channel Funding Toward "Sustainability" in Asia

At a May meeting in Cambodia, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) launched a Sustainable Development Infrastructure Partnership hub for Southeast Asia to help provide "sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure" in the region, funded by governments, banks, pension funds, and other groups.

UN Official Seeks Small Business Support on SDGs

A statement from the UN Secretary-General's Chef de Cabinet Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti to a "Small Business Knowledge Summit" at the UN signaled the international organization's intention to enlist small and medium-sized businesses in its efforts to achieve the comprehensive social and environmental targets of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
