Finland Produces Guide on "Socially Responsible" Procurement

Finland's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has published a guide for public-sector agents on how to adopt "socially responsible public procurement" processes that take into account "social considerations," such as working conditions and corporate social responsibility, in public procurement of goods and services.

IOC Renews Gender Equality Deal with UN Agency

In its renewal of an agreement with UN Women, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has accepted a responsibility to "empower" women through sports and to promote "women’s leadership and gender equality in the sport industry" around the world, as part of the IOC's implementation of the global business and human rights agenda.

UN Agencies Launch Corporate "Playbook" on Climate Action

At a side event of the UN climate summit in Bonn, Germany, in November, a group of UN agencies urged business leaders to push their governments for more stringent commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and launched a "Climate Action Playbook" to guide businesses on how to ramp up their climate and "sustainability" commitments.
