In the face of significant criticism about the increased tendency of the European Court of Human Rights ("ECHR") to interfere with domestic sovereignty, the ECHR has decided that the UK's extradition of terror suspects to the United States for trial and possible detention in "supermax" prisons would not violate the detainees' human rights, as the amenities provided to the detainees (i.e., television, newspapers, hobby and craft items) would exceed those usually provided in European prisons.
