In Larger Freedom: Towards Security, Development, and Human Rights for All
"In Larger Freedom" is a report that was proposed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the 2005 New York summit to review progress since the Millennium Declaration. The report acknowledges that there is much work that still needs to be done in order to achieve the goals set by the Millennium Declaration. Specifically, Mr. Annan highlights several key areas that need substantial work, including goals relating to freedom from want and freedom from fear (such as financing for development and preventing catastrophic terrorism), goals ensuring the freedom to live in dignity (such as establishing the rule of law), and the strengthening of the United Nations.
