People In Aid

People in Aid is a global network of development and humanitarian agencies that supports member organizations by acting as an information exchange on good human resources and people management practices. It accomplishes this by facilitating networking, providing resources, and undertaking research and answering queries.  People in Aid has a code of good practice that is recognized internationally as a quality tool of human resource management for aid organizations.  The code was built on the guiding principle that people are central to the achievement of aid’s mission, and focuses on the seven areas of health, learning, recruitment, support of management and leadership, staff policies, and human resource strategy.

People In Aid has a long list of member organizations that includes Amnesty International, Care, Oxfam, and the Red Cross Ireland, Red Cross, UK, Red Cross Australia, and Red Cross Canada.  People In Aid charges a membership fee for its member organizations as a source of funds, but also receives significant donations from The Department for International Development (UK), the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid Office, The Fritz Institute, and Trades Union Charitable Trust
