NGO Monitor
NGO Monitor was established on the premise that, although NGOs have become extremely powerful in recent years, they have not been subject to independent and critical analysis. Its aim as an organization is to provide information and analysis in order to challenge interpretations and assumptions that NGOs and their motives are politically and ideologically neutral in nature. Its particular area of focus is NGO misrepresentations of the Arab-Israeli conflict, mainly NGOs’ bias is reporting about Israel. NGO Monitor seeks to publicize distortions of human rights issues and provide information and context for the intended benefit of NGOs working in the Middle East and to better inform public debate about the role of humanitarian NGOs. It provides articles of interest, op-eds and editorials, recent news articles about NGOs, and a list of government and foundation donor activity. It also provides an extensive list of NGOs that do work focusing on the Arab-Israeli conflict.
NGO Monitor is located in Jerusalem and headed by Executive Director Professor Gerald Steinberg. Its principle donors are the Wechsler Family Foundation and Newt Becker.
