US Supports “Restrictive” Immunity for International Organizations

The US government has submitted a brief to the US Supreme Court in a lawsuit against the World Bank’s private lending arm, alleging that the institution has funded rights abuses and environmental harm, that such international organizations should only be entitled to “restrictive” immunity and can be sued for injuries arising out of their commercial operations.
