EU Seeks European Content Quota for Streaming Services

EurActiv reports that the European Commission plans to revise the EU Audiovisual Media Services Directive to require streaming services such as Netflix to offer at least 20 percent European content and to permit EU member states to require such streaming services to contribute to the funding of the production of European television shows and films.

ECtHR: Hungary Violated Rights of Protesting Parliamentarians

The European Court of Human Rights has held that Hungary violated the right to free expression of Members of the Hungarian Parliament by fining them for various protests that disrupted parliamentary sessions because the sanctions procedures used did not offer the MPs a sufficient opportunity to defend themselves.
