AI Pushes Measures to Reduce Financing for Firearms

Amnesty International ("AI") has published a report calling on Luxembourg to pass laws restricting financing by the country's banking sector of the production and transfer of various arms and pressuring banks to adopt policies addressing what AI deems to be their international legal obligation to restrict funding for firearms.

NGOs Select Companies for Monitoring on BHR Compliance

NGO Criticizes Draft EU Mineral Sourcing Law

The nongovernmental organization Global Witness has warned that the voluntary, limited nature of a proposal from EU member states seeking to regulate corporate sourcing of minerals from war-torn areas of Africa, to be negotiated by EU officials in Strasbourg in February, will fail "to reduce global conflict."
