Jason Barbose of the Union of Concerned Scientists has published an article seeking the passage of legislation in California that extends the statute of limitations for California’s Unfair Competition Law to 30 years in the case of civil actions against companies over information they released on the uncertainty of climate change science.

French Legislature Advances Law on Parent Company Responsibility

The European Coalition for Corporate Justice has praised the French National Assembly for adopting a law requiring French parent companies to develop "vigilance plans" to provide for due diligence in their own operations and in those of their subsidiaries to prevent negative environmental and human rights impacts.

CoE Official Outlines Work on BHR Agenda

The Council of Europe's ("CoE") Commissioner for Human Rights, Nils Muižnieks, has published an outline of the work the CoE has done to promote the UN's business and human rights ("BHR") agenda in Europe, including by publishing a recent recommendation on BHR implementation and pushing for BHR national action plans in individual countries.
