ILO Supports Greek Clampdown on "Undeclared Work"

Based on recommendations from the UN's International Labour Organization, Greek authorities have agreed to a roadmap to stamp out "undeclared work" - employment that is not reported to government authorities - in the country in an effort to increase the collection of taxes from businesses and individuals to bolster the country's "social transfer systems."

UN Agent Intervenes in CETA Debate

Arguing that the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a "corporate-driven" treaty whose inclusion of an investment tribunal violates human rights, UN Independent Expert Alfred de Zayas has called for a robust UN business and human rights treaty to counter the power of businesses to challenge regulations under treaties like CETA.

Law Firm Uses Survey to Promote BHR Agenda

Law firm Herbert Smith Freehills is using a survey showing an increase in knowledge among in-house counsel about the global business and human rights agenda to call on lawyers to "go beyond what is strictly required under the law" by advising companies on BHR issues to avoid reputational impacts.
