Commission Seeks Reforms in Medication Patents

The Lancet Commission on Essential Medicines, an organization supported in part by the UN's World Health Organization, has issued a report calling for more global spending to resolve "massive inequities and inefficiencies" in health care and reforms in the patenting of medicines to reduce pricing and increase access.
