UN Group Pushes for BHR "Due Diligence" in Mexico

The UN Working Group on business and human rights (BHR) has published a report on its 2016 visit to Mexico calling on the country's government to consult with activists in creating a national action plan on BHR issues and pushing businesses to adopt BHR "due diligence procedures" and to publicly report on their efforts to implement these procedures.

US Communities Sue "Carbon Majors" over Sea Level

Two coastal California counties and one California city have sued a group of oil, gas, and coal producers, claiming that these “carbon majors” conspired for decades to hide the negative environmental effects of fossil fuels and should be required to pay “for the current and future costs of adapting to sea level rises linked to climate change.”
