International Health Impact Assessment Consortium
IMPACT is a consortium that brings together a team of highly experienced and knowledgeable specialists working in the field of health impact assessment. Health impacts are the overall effects, direct or indirect, of a policy, strategy, program, or project on the health of a population. This may include direct effects on the health of the members of the population and more indirect effects through intermediate factors that influence the determinants of the health of the population. Such impacts may be felt immediately, in the short term, or after a longer period. Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is a combination of procedures, methods and tools by which a policy, program or project may be judged as to its potential effects on the health of a population, and the distribution of those effects within the population.
