Business for Social Responsibility
According to its website, Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) provides socially responsible business solutions to many of the world's leading corporations. Headquartered in San Francisco and with offices in Europe and China, BSR is a nonprofit business association that serves its 250 member companies and other Global 1000 enterprises. Through advisory services, conferences, and research, BSR works with corporations and concerned stakeholders of all types to create a more just and sustainable global economy.
BSR has joined forces with the World Economic Forum to promote corporate global citizenship to improve public governance. According to BSR, appropriate business efforts to address topics ranging from climate change and labor standards to bribery and corruption are more likely to be successful where effective public governance is present. In BSR’s opinion, corporations should engage in global corporate citizenship by promoting and facilitating improved public governance and, thereby, improve the effectiveness of the corporate social responsibility efforts.
